When I first started thinking about Floreo Health, I was DEFINITELY not going to have a blog. Because the last thing the world needs is another health blog.

But as I spent more time paying closer attention to the conversations happening around health, I realized something important. There is no shortage of information—what’s missing is thoughtful exploration. The collective “we” tend to speak about health as if we’ve figured it out. But if you look at the outcomes (rising rates of chronic illness, metabolic dysfunction, and mental health challenges), the scoreboard says otherwise. If anything, it suggests we still have a lot to learn.

I’ve never been one to simply accept ideas because “that’s the way it’s always been done.” I’m naturally curious about the assumptions behind them. I like to examine the evidence, maybe even wrestle with it a little, and ultimately see things for myself. Sometimes conventional wisdom holds up; sometimes it doesn’t. And more often than not, the truth lives somewhere in the nuance far beyond the oversimplified narratives that dominate most conversations about health. Approaching health with certainty is limiting. Approaching it with curiosity and a willingness to be wrong is what creates the space for real understanding, and that’s the spirit of this space.

This will not be a blog filled with “do this, don’t do this” health rules. It’s a place to think deeply, question assumptions, and examine ideas more carefully—to look closely at the factors that shape how we feel but are often left unexamined. And that kind of exploration doesn’t fit very well inside an Instagram post.

So here we are…

One series I’m especially excited to write is called Ancient Wisdom for Modern Health. Across cultures and centuries, humans developed rich traditions for understanding and supporting health—from concepts like prana and qi to practices such as fasting and plant medicine. Many of these ideas are now resurfacing in modern wellness conversations, but along the way, some have been misunderstood, oversimplified, or commercialized in ways that strip them of their deeper meaning.

In this series, I’ll explore these traditions through a modern lens, examining not only the practices themselves but also the frameworks that gave them life. Without that understanding, it’s easy to adopt the practice without understanding what it’s actually doing or why it exists, losing the depth, intention, and connection that originally gave it meaning.

More broadly, this blog is an extension of the same question that shaped my own journey: What if our understanding of health is incomplete? I’ll explore what health actually is, what shapes it, and the foundational things that matter far more than most people realize (hint: it’s not supplements or the latest biohack).

Along the way, I’ll probably get vulnerable and share parts of my own health journey—the good, the bad, the ugly—and what ultimately changed how I understand health. There’s a lot I haven’t shared but I think there’s value in doing so.

If this blog does its job well, it will leave you with more questions than answers.
